FREE Yoga Nidra/Guided Meditation

This class is taught by:

Sophie Miller

After an injury and feeling like a stranger in her own body, Sophie decided to give Bikram Yoga a try. It's a day she will never forget. The heat, the confrontation of looking at herself in the mirrors, and the feelings that surfaced. It was a lot. But it only took one class and her world changed forever.
She’d always been drawn to a more calm, healing, and authentic way of living. She now knows that her heart and soul knew long before her mind did that she was meant to teach yoga. Sophie trained in Thailand for 9 weeks to become a Certified Bikram Yoga Teacher (500hrs). It was the biggest challenge she had ever put herself through spiritually, physically, and mentally.
Sophie is passionate about making a difference in this world in as many ways as possible and she’s honoured to have yoga to share with the world.

Kanako Sato

Kanako, originally from Japan, practiced a number of styles of yoga before she found Bikram. When she did however, it was love at first class. From there her passion and even obsession with the practice grew and she finds that yoga makes her a healthy, strong, better and positive person and yoga is now part of her life.  Kanako feels truly humbled and grateful for the opportunity to share this with others.

With certifications in Bikram Yoga, Power Vinyasa and Yin Yoga, she teaches in a way that encourages students to share the positive energy, have fun and explore their maximum potential by trying the right way in the moment of stillness.

Before embarking on her first teacher training in September 2011, she was daunted by the idea of standing in front of a class, but she took inspiration from her many teachers and then her fellow trainees and she knows that anything is possible when it’s done with love and passion. She now wants to inspire students through teaching and practicing together

Kat Gregory

Kat is an enthusiastic and holistic minded yoga teacher of both Bikram (Hot Yoga) & Yin Yoga styles. Since graduating from Bikram’s College of India in Fall 2011 Kat has taught in studios all around Australia as well as in the UK. Yoga has played a transformational healing role in Kat’s life that has seen her go from city party girl to holistic wellness advocate. Having mentored with some of the best senior teachers from Australia and around the world, Kat is always keen to expand her knowledge and education to pass onto the students. Outside of the yoga room, Kat is a Usui Reiki Master & intuitive healer. Combining her passions for metaphysics and movement Kat weaves into her classes her love for the Chakras, Chinese Meridians and current energy forecasting.

Mandi Nelson

The yogic and spiritual pathway is one that started as a child for Mandi and one she has always returned to whenever she feels she has needed to find herself again. Through life experience and many forms of study Mandi has cultivated deep interest in spiritual growth and alternative healing, especially around trauma, addiction, and suffering.
She draws from her own life to offer a diverse, intuitive based Sacred ‘mystyle’ of yoga infused with spiritual teaching and healing. She teaches breath-focussed movement, encouraging students to let go of what holds them back and to become more mindful in every moment.
Mandi teaches yoga and meditation to all people - children, teenagers, adults, disabled, and the elderly. She utilises sound, smudging, crystals, oils, mantra, and meditation in her sessions. She has been teaching since 2012, is 800hr, Cert 4 trained, and holds independent qualifications in meditation.

Jo Harvey

A desire for greater flexibility drew Jo, Yoga Tree Perth owner, to yoga in her early 20s. But it was after a hot yoga class she felt the magic. She left with a sense of accomplishment, calm, and energy she’d never felt before. Her fascination with this ancient science of yoga took off.

Jo was working as an accountant and her family was experiencing some challenging times. Both made Jo think about her life and what she could do with it. This put her on the path of a nine week teacher training in Hawaii in 2007. And she’s been teaching ever since. Jo’s gone on to complete a 200-hour Power Living Vinyasa training, plus an additional 200 hours in India and has completed her pilates training. Jo loves the combination of yoga and pilates and its ability to balance herself and her students. She continues to be inspired by her teachers but also her students.

The practice and process of yoga has been so transformative for her. Jo hopes to encourage her students to cultivate the same devotion, passion, and trust to allow the transformation within them.

Robbie Hamilton

It was in the middle of a long hot summer that Robbie attended her first hot yoga class. It took a long time to get used to doing yoga in the heat but she found it to be a complete workout, a journey, and a life changer. Her health improved as she allowed the practice and her teachers to create a space for change, both physically and mentally.

Robbie attended a Bikram Yoga Teacher Training in 2013. Not wanting to stop the learning journey she went on to complete a 200 hour Vinyasa Teacher Training at Power Living and is working her way through the 500-hour pathway. In 2017 Robbie commenced a Cert IV in Matwork Pilates through Polestar Pilates Australia. She plans to continue in this direction with possibly a Diploma and courses on Reformer and Studio work.

If you had told Robbie 10 years ago that she would be a yoga teacher, own an incredible studio, and have this much lycra, she would have laughed until she cried.

Yoga Nidra, known as psychic sleep or sleep with awareness, is an ancient practice that is intended to induce full-body relaxation and a meditative state of consciousness. Guided meditation will take you on a journey of guided visualisation of varying themes and techniques each class. Meditation has many physiological, psychological and spiritual benefits. This is the perfect remedy to reduce tension and anxiety. Both styles will be a lead practice in which you’re required to do nothing but rest and focus your mind. Anyone can practice Yoga Nidra and Guided Meditation so all levels of experience are welcome.  This class is FREE for everybody. Book online or just turn up.
