Yin Yoga - Roll and Release

Lee-Anne Heron

Lee-Anne is mum of three, a naturopath with over 15 years clinical experience, and her yoga practice dates back as far. Certified in Yin Yoga, Rainbow Family and Kids Yoga (Vinyasa), Core + Hot Pilates, Yoga Tune Up®, The Roll Model Method®, PT, BSc (Nat), Thai Yoga Massage, and a broad range of manual therapies, Lee has a solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, human movement, and pranayama.

She teaches from a functional perspective, based in anatomy. You’ll embody the muscle, fascia or function of each pose in Lee’s class. Lee also recognises that each individual is different and can help students find shapes that suit their individual bone structure, injuries/tensions, and flexibility.

When she’s not working she’s at the park or beach with three kids, playing acro yoga or enjoying the gymnastics of crossfit.

Renae Bedells

Renae found Ashtanga yoga in 2002. In the early years, Renae practiced to stretch after running and boxing but also enjoyed the physical challenge that Ashtanga provided. As the years rolled on and her studies and later work as a Primary teacher became more demanding, she found herself retreating to yoga to become centred and release stress and anxiety.

After teaching in the Pilbara for two years and feeling ‘burnt out’ yoga became a form of therapy. After experiencing a major life turn-around she decided she would combine her love for yoga and her passion for children’s education and embark on her Yoga Teacher Training in 2011 at the Yoga Space. It was here she was able to totally commit to yoga and developed a strong and much deeper practice and understanding of yoga and meditation.

Renae teaches Yin Yoga, Hatha Vinyasa Flow, Ashtanga, and Power Yoga. She specialises in Children’s Yoga and teaches Mindfulness Courses in schools. She caters to all levels by providing modifications and enjoys working closely with individuals to help them feel safe and challenged in their practice.


Astrid Van Mourik

Astrid found yoga in 2001 and has completed over 400hrs of yoga teacher training since including Yin with international teacher Jo Phee. Her main love is ashtanga yoga. It’s the weaving of the breath throughout the practice that got her hooked on this style and the belief that the body and breath are intimately connected with the mind. By controlling the breath and holding the body in steady poses creates harmony. Yoga encourages a holistic view of the body and promotes a positive self-awareness. Yoga gives Astrid the means to stay focused and calm, strong and healthy.

Astrid believes the power of positive thought can bring balance to busy modern lives - her goal is to help students find that same balance.


Jo Harvey

A desire for greater flexibility drew Jo, Yoga Tree Perth owner, to yoga in her early 20s. But it was after a hot yoga class she felt the magic. She left with a sense of accomplishment, calm, and energy she’d never felt before. Her fascination with this ancient science of yoga took off.

Jo was working as an accountant and her family was experiencing some challenging times. Both made Jo think about her life and what she could do with it. This put her on the path of a nine week teacher training in Hawaii in 2007. And she’s been teaching ever since. Jo’s gone on to complete a 200-hour Power Living Vinyasa training, plus an additional 200 hours in India and has completed her pilates training. Jo loves the combination of yoga and pilates and its ability to balance herself and her students. She continues to be inspired by her teachers but also her students.

The practice and process of yoga has been so transformative for her. Jo hopes to encourage her students to cultivate the same devotion, passion, and trust to allow the transformation within them.

Yoga Tune Up® classes focus on eradicating pain, improving posture and enhancing performance by locating your body’s blind spots that are catalysts for injury and discomfort. We use YTU® therapy balls and myofascial release techniques to roll out and release muscles and the surrounding connective tissue in an effort to calm the nervous system, reduce tension, eliminate pain, increase mobility, and bring balance back to the body.

Classes are concentrated to delve deep into specific areas of the body such as core, hips, back, neck and shoulders. These classes are ideal for anyone who wants to rejuvenate their body from stress and pain. Whether you sit at a desk or are an athlete experiencing fatigue, you’re sure to feel the tune-up difference!
