Core+ Hot Pilates (45 mins)

This class is taught by:

Joana Guyonnet

Joana is a mum of 3 little boys, as well as a wellness coach for the last 9 years. Her mission is to help people be healthier and happier. She believes in a total approach being mindset, nutrition & exercise. In the last 9 years she has so far helped 7,000 people with their health, & globally trained over 50,000 people on living a healthy active lifestyle. After injuring her neck & finding being a busy mum working from home, her fitness & core strength wasn’t where it needed to be. After loving bikram yoga in the past, Joana attended her first Core & Hot Pilates class. She loves the music & higher pace to just have fun and get a great workout in. She says, “The physical transformation for my body & my recovery plus the community at yoga tree... I’m just in love!” Joana is now qualified in Core & Hot Pilates, is so grateful to Jo, Robbie & all the instructors for their mentoring & extremely excited to be teaching at Yoga Tree.

Robbie Hamilton

It was in the middle of a long hot summer that Robbie attended her first hot yoga class. It took a long time to get used to doing yoga in the heat but she found it to be a complete workout, a journey, and a life changer. Her health improved as she allowed the practice and her teachers to create a space for change, both physically and mentally.

Robbie attended a Bikram Yoga Teacher Training in 2013. Not wanting to stop the learning journey she went on to complete a 200 hour Vinyasa Teacher Training at Power Living and is working her way through the 500-hour pathway. In 2017 Robbie commenced a Cert IV in Matwork Pilates through Polestar Pilates Australia. She plans to continue in this direction with possibly a Diploma and courses on Reformer and Studio work.

If you had told Robbie 10 years ago that she would be a yoga teacher, own an incredible studio, and have this much lycra, she would have laughed until she cried.

Lewy Finnegan

Lewy started practising Yoga to help with his professional bodyboarding career. Throughout his life, injuries have come up again and again including a broken back. Lewy felt like he needed to start treating his body with love. He started focussing on healthy eating and training his body and mind to be in the best shape possible, sure enough, he found Yoga.

As soon as he started practising Yoga on a daily basis the beauty of it captivated him. He felt light, strong, flexible, clear-minded, focussed, calm, and happy. Yoga has changed his life. It’s opened his mind up to a world full of energy and meaning that he would never have found otherwise. Lewy completed his vinyasa teacher training in January of 2017 in India and is also a qualified core+ hot pilates teacher which he believes is a great compliment to Yoga.

Jaime Healing

Jamie was a netball junkie, playing up to five days a week. But when she had a knee reconstruction she needed to do something that was low impact - that's when she heard of Bikram Yoga.

She took her first class in March 2012 and it was truly amazing. She had this euphoric feeling during the class she’d never felt before. And on her 6th class she was able to sit cross-legged – for the first time in two years. By 2015 her knee was strong enough to try Core+Hot Pilates. It was hard and so much fun, she couldn't wait for the next class, so when the opportunity of teaching came up she could not resist.

Jo Harvey

A desire for greater flexibility drew Jo, Yoga Tree Perth owner, to yoga in her early 20s. But it was after a hot yoga class she felt the magic. She left with a sense of accomplishment, calm, and energy she’d never felt before. Her fascination with this ancient science of yoga took off.

Jo was working as an accountant and her family was experiencing some challenging times. Both made Jo think about her life and what she could do with it. This put her on the path of a nine week teacher training in Hawaii in 2007. And she’s been teaching ever since. Jo’s gone on to complete a 200-hour Power Living Vinyasa training, plus an additional 200 hours in India and has completed her pilates training. Jo loves the combination of yoga and pilates and its ability to balance herself and her students. She continues to be inspired by her teachers but also her students.

The practice and process of yoga has been so transformative for her. Jo hopes to encourage her students to cultivate the same devotion, passion, and trust to allow the transformation within them.

This dynamic class incorporates traditional mat pilates exercises, plus a revolutionary mix of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and weight work to strengthen your core and tone your body.

Each class will follow a similar sequence but the order and focus will vary from class to class. The room is heated to 30 degrees, to maximise your workout.

It will be one of the best workouts you’ve had and will leave you feeling energised and inspired!
